That is an excellent article! It names CIR, and their convention it held in London, Zalkin law Firm, and Geoffrey Shannon from Ireland. It is very specific revealing the harm it has done to individuals who have reported these things in the past and try to do so anonymously, and have even done so feeling that they would be supported, and actually they were shunned. It seems as though this movement is gaining momentum, eh?I like what Geoffrey said "there is a premium placed on the institution, to the detriment of the welfare of the children".. and he also widens the view of the problem of Jehovah's Witnesses to "an increasing scrutiny on the religion worldwide."The article includes Britain, Australia, and the U.S., and how do you like him saying this was only the beginning? Saying that the Catholic Church could once again provide a model for handling that case is coming to light in Jehovah's Witnesses? He is a very clever and a very sincere man you can see by saying, "allowing any institution to be beyond the reach of state laws is dangerous." And "nothing predicts like the past we know that those who ignore the lessons of History are doomed to repeat its mistakes" and "I think this is a defining moment in Ireland as we learn lessons from the past"That will get Ireland on board they can be the first to say, " yes we do not ignore the lessons from the past!" -

So sorry Flipper,
The WT & JWs portray themselves as a "clean people", "holy to Jehovah", and everything in this organization is "done strictly by Bible standards" which "proves they are the true religion."
It is this hypocrisy, seen in court case after court case, judicial committee meeting after judicial committee meeting that is so frustrating to many. Myself included.
I have been there, listened to their lawyers.... Watched the ARC, and see how WTBS operates.
They hold all 'publishers' 'rank & file' to high standards as to whether they stay in the 'correct hotel' for conventions. (of all things)
It is 'simply abhorrent' that they 'abhor child abuse', but their actions speak louder than words, don't they?

Ramos mentored the girl, and the two communicated through text messages. At one point, the two exchanged “inappropriate” photos and their relationship turned physical, Macias said.
He is charged with felony oral copulation, possession and distribution of child pornography and misdemeanor child molestation.
It seems as though the police have "text messages" "inappropriate photos" and they must have found "child pornography" that he "distributed".
"Apparently," they DO have evidence.

Outside JW World They Barely Exist
by Farmer Jim1 inis anyone else staggered by the fact that outside of the organization most of the general public seem to know very little or nothing about jw’s?
when i was in i was led to believe that 99% of the worlds population had been giving sufficient warning, knew what it was all about and were stubbornly sticking to their immoral ways.
the reality seems to be that the entire jw universe is barely noticeable to the masses.

Once I left JW-ville, I asked a couple of friends regarding what they knew of JWs.... It is exactly as everyone stated here...they didn't know much. One nurse, who was born in China, knew nothing of them growing up, and only because she works in a hospital knows of their stance on blood.
Kingdom? God's name? Vindication? Satan vs. God?
Nope.... The "good, great and holy news of the kingdom" is not well known.
JWs say "God gives everyone a chance to decide who they will serve, he is so fair to let Satan tell his side of the story, and let "the people" have a choice.
How can anyone choose or decide over an issue when they have no knowledge it even exists?????

God will not let you suffer more than you can bare.
by StephaneLaliberte ini had a conversation with an old jw friend and he spent a good part of the evening preaching to me.
as i am “inactive”, i am forced to stay low, thus, i was not argumentative.
yet, at one moment, he said that angels protect jws in field service and other situations.

It is stupidity to the max.... and it is plain old arbitrary-ism....
1. "Oh look! Jehovah saved my house from the earthquake because I am a worshipper of Jehovah"
2. "Oh, so sad they died in the earthquake, but we know... "time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all"

If a year is really 365 1/4 days why 360 days to calculate 1914
by blondie indoesn't that throw off the date?.
*** w51 6/15 p. 383 questions from readers ***.
in establishing the length of the seven times of the gentiles, a time or year of 360 days is used, to give 2,520 days, which become 2,520 years when ezekiel 4:6 is applied.
-
cha ching
*** it-1 p. 135 Appointed Times of the Nations ***
The duration of a year as so used is indicated to be 360 days, inasmuch as three and a half times are shown to equal “a thousand two hundred and sixty days” at Revelation 12:6, 14
Seven times,” according to this count, would equal 2,520 days.So, 2520 / 360 = 7
607 to 1 ce = 607 x 365 = 221,555 days
1- 1914 = 1913 x 365 = 698,245 days
Add these ‘days together = 919,800 days
Divide this by the 360 days /360 prophetic days/ years
2,555 days (you get wrong #)
It doesn’t work
Or 919,800 / 365 = 2,520…. It comes out right! Wow!
WT uses the 360 prophetic days to get the 2520, but SWITCHES to using our current 365 calendar days in the middle of the equation to get 1914!!!
Ok, so take the 2,520 days, and divide it by 365, the method of determining years we use now
2520 / 365 = 6.90 times not seven times like Daniel said

Is this what you are thinking of? I hope you let her be the homecoming queen if that is her heart's desire.... she is only young once, and only gets to 'try for it' so many times ;-)

ELECTIVE OFFICES AND POSITIONS
In many schools the student body elects other students to certain offices or positions, such as president or spokesman for the class, cheerleader, homecoming queen, and so on. One might be nominated and voted into a position without his even accepting the nomination. Some high schools even allow for small-scale political campaigning, and students may wear campaign buttons and put up “vote for” posters.
Now, how do Christians view these elective offices and positions? Would they accept a position if voted in by their classmates? Would they participate in the voting, either by a show of hands or by balloting?
Well, what is the purpose of this voting in school? In most cases it is to familiarize young persons with the machinery of worldly politics. So what Bible principle applies? Why, separateness from the world and its politics. Since Jehovah’s witnesses as adults do not mix in politics, it is only reasonable that children of Jehovah’s witnesses do not mix in politics on a school level, either by accepting an elective office or participating in conferring such an office upon others. What, then, would a Christian youth do if he were nominated to an office? He could tactfully decline the nomination or, if elected without his assent, he could tactfully decline the office; so following the example of Jesus, who withdrew when the people wanted to make him king.
Though one of Jehovah’s witnesses would decline a position given him through small-scale political machinery, he considers an appointment by the teacher as something different. If a Christian youth were appointed by the teacher to help in traffic direction or some other unobjectionable duty during school hours, he would cooperate. If no violation of Bible principles would result from carrying out an appointment, then he would be helpful to the school and other students to every reasonable extent.
Of course, some positions at school involve violation of Bible principles, even if that position comes by appointment and not through political machinery. For instance, what if one were appointed cheerleader? Encouraging others in itself is not wrong, as when one is playing on a team and he shouts words of encouragement. But it is something else to lead a crowd into frenzied cheering for and exaltation of an institution of this world, to lead people in standing for the school song or to lead others into the snare of hero worship. That would violate Bible principles. A Christian who is separate from this world and who gives exclusive devotion to Jehovah God would decline a cheerleader appointment.
Some schools may vote a girl as “Homecoming Queen” or as beauty queen. Even if a Christian girl were appointed and not elected to such queenship, how could she accept it? Bible principles show that it is not proper for the creature to be given undue importance. (Rom. 1:25) Moreover, to set up womanhood upon a pedestal would violate Bible principles. (1 Tim. 2:12, 13) Christians do not engage in the glorification of humans, and they would not want anyone to give them such idolatrous treatment. Also, those who serve as “kings” or “queens” are expected to take the lead in political, patriotic and worldly religious activities, which true Christians cannot do.
Of course, it is well for you young Christians to keep in mind that not all voting is political. Sometimes students are called on by the teacher to express opinions. There would be no violation of Bible principle in expression of one’s preference of certain activities or the appraisal of a talk or composition. It is not electing one politically to an office when one expresses an opinion by a show of hands as to the quality of something.
*** sj pp. 23-24 Extracurricular Activities *** (the School & JW booklet?)
Cheerleader and Homecoming Queen: At athletic events it is the responsibility of cheerleaders to orchestrate the crowd in frenzied cheering for a school. They also encourage the people into hero worship and lead them in standing for the school song. Jehovah’s Witnesses consider it inappropriate to do this. Similarly, we feel that for a Witness youth to serve as a homecoming or beauty queen would be in violation of Bible principles that show the impropriety of glorifying humans.—Romans 1:25; Acts 12:21-23.
